The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Tea
Blend:
From:
The teas are from the Assam region of North East India and the
Yunnan region of Southern China carefully blended together to
create this beautiful and unique tea. The Assam tea was first
discovered in 1823 - a great addition to the timeless classic of
the Yunnan tea.
The Royal Tea:
When you look at this tea, it is absolutely gorgeous. The
tip content is high so you can see those beautiful bronze pale tips
popping through. It also smells fantastic; nice caramel
aromas waft from it

We love to brew this tea in a glass teapot so you can see the
infusion process happening - as a rule of thumb, add one teaspoon
per person and one for the pot - as the saying goes.

When boiling the kettle always cut the kettle off as soon as it
hits a rolling boil. The reason is if you continue to allow
the water to boil you are boiling out all the dissolved oxygen in
the water which impacts some of the flavour and taste you will get
from the tea.
Brewing the
Royal Tea Blend:
Once your kettle has boiled you can pour it straight over the
tea and ideally allow 3 ½ minutes for the tea to brew, although the
aroma is some delicious you may be tempted sooner. When the
tea has brewed, you will see that it is a bold tea; deep ruby red
in colour and you'll instantly smell the malty aroma.
Tea Taste and
Tea Character:
On tasting, the Assam comes through straight away- thick, robust
and malty with a little astringency, giving way to a different
length in the character of the tea - it is followed by the Yunnan
which is sweet, mellow and really delicious - this is fantastic
with a dessert perhaps, or something sweet and the flavour is
perfect for milk and sugar if you are that way inclined.
Alternatively, it is fantastic on its own.
