As the name suggests, Twinings Ceylon tea is a single origin tea, meaning that geographically it can only come from one place. As Ceylon is close to the equator the climate is perfect for growing tea all year long.
Here at Twinings we are also known for blending teas, such as English Breakfast tea and Twinings Everyday tea, Ceylon tea can be blended (and is) with other teas, so when you taste this tea, you may have the feeling that you already know it.
So if you are looking for a medium to strong tea, that can be drink with or without milk, really at any time of the day - this tea will be the one for you.
Historic Notes: Back in the 1860s, when Sri Lanka was called Ceylon, the island's economy was in crisis. The coffee crop had failed, and there was only one thing for it: to grow tea instead.
But no one could have imagined how light or fresh that tea would be. After one sip of the amber liquid, the islanders' thirst was quenched. And coffee was forgotten forever.
