"Always an anticipated event and an immense pleasure, white-gloved Afternoon Tea service offers an even more extensive choice to our discerning guests. That's because we are now serving the Twinings Rituals Collection"
With nearly 175 years of maritime heritage, Cunard Line is renowned for the luxury, grandeur and elegance of its 'Queens', but also for its British signatures and impeccable service at sea.
Comprising one of the youngest fleets in the world, Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth uphold some of the finest British traditions, including the quintessential White Gloved Afternoon Tea, served daily aboard these magnificent ships, more famous than any other afloat.
The Afternoon Tea tradition was originally inspired by the Duchess of Bedford, in 1840 - the same year Cunard's first ships set sail across the Atlantic - and to this day, it's a ritual that remains as a classic institution.
QUEENS ROOM ON QUEEN ELIZABETH
Twinings has been supporting this finest event for years, to make sure every cup served on board is the best it can be. After all, it is something we do so well.
In May 2010, Cunard officially changed to Twinings as their on board afternoon tea partner and this is what they had to say about us:
"Always an anticipated event and an immense pleasure, white-gloved Afternoon Tea service offers even a more extensive choice to our discerning guests. That's because we are now serving the Twinings Rituals Collection. Presented on special Twinings crockery, it is a range that both reflects 300 years of tea-producing expertise and is designed to match your mood at any moment. After all, with six varieties of British Afternoon Tea, six herbal infusions and seven oriental blends, you really will be spoilt for choice".
