TWININGS SHINES AT THE GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2019
May we proudly present the Twinings recipients for the Great Taste Awards 2019…
GREAT TASTE AWARDS – THE “OSCARS” OF THE FOOD WORLD
Great Taste is the largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for fine food and drink. It offers a unique benchmarking and product evaluation service leading to an independent accreditation that encourages confidence and commercial success for small business, generating greater awareness for products locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Since 1994, more than 120,000 products have been put through this robust judging process. Each one is fastidiously blind-tasted by selected chefs, buyers, fine food retailers, restaurateurs, food critics and writers in teams of 3 or 4 ensuring a balance of expertise, age and gender.
In 2019 over 500 judges, including specifically trained food writers inputting judges’ comments, came together in Dorset over 75 days. Tea was judged along with filter coffee and espresso at specialist test centres and we are extremely proud to announce that not 1, not 2, but 8 of our products were awarded the coveted Great Taste Award stars!

ENGLISH STRONG BREAKFAST
2 STAR - OUTSTANDING
A bright and brisk infusion, colour-y and distinct. It takes milk well, producing a wonderful liquor with impressive brightness.
Thick and strong. Bright with milk.
A clever blend of flavours, as of cardamom and bergamot. Mild citrus presence and balanced blend.
THE FULL ENGLISH
Thick, brisk, markedly astringent. Bright with milk, punching through the milkiness and retaining great colour.
SUPERBLENDS - MOMENT OF CALM
A crystal clear liquor of pale amber with a freshly baked biscuity aroma. Well balanced with sweetness and subtle spicy tones. The spice is warm and inviting on the nose with hints of toasted spice and caramel. It is very easy and pleasant to drink, leaves a delicate and delicious vanilla toast in your mouth.
