CELEBRATING FATHER'S DAY
Father’s Day is fast approaching and we’re celebrating all the wonderful dads out there. We asked some of the fathers in our office for their take on parenthood and we loved hearing their responses!
Every day is an adventure when you’re a child, and it seems that dads love to join in.
We asked about the adventures dads have with their children and one dad commented: “When we have adventures together they really bring out the Peter Pan in me”. Building dens featured highly, and we’re delighted to know that if we ever need a den in the Twinings office we’ll have a highly experienced team on hand! Treasure hunts, the beach, tree climbing, storytelling, hide and seek, bike rides and exploring were also high on the agenda.
IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS
We know that it’s the little things that make a big difference; children are the experts in this and clearly have a great influence on their dads!
We asked what their children most enjoy doing with them and the simple pleasures shone through. Chatting, reading, playing in the garden, board games, listening to music and cuddling up on the sofa were all mentioned. One dad remarked: “You don’t always have to ‘do stuff’ – sometimes just sitting together and watching a film, or reading a book, or building Lego in silence is enough” and another commented: “I just love spending time with them - it’s the simple, everyday stuff”.
SUPER DAD
And we all know that, in the eyes of a child, every dad has a super power. Our team’s super powers ranged from strength (it’s all relative) to a knowledge of all things Star Wars and bringing joy through song! One dad commented: “I pour out love into my children, prioritise them above everything and care deeply about helping them solve their problems”. Now that’s a super power to be proud of!
