Spicy Masala Chai Latte

Spicy Masala Chai Latte

A mixture of fragrant and warming spices, with delicious Spicy Chai tea and sweet milk combine to make this comforting and cosy blend.

200ml · Water

2 · Twinings Spicy Chai Tea Bags

2 tsp · Honey

300ml · Dairy-Free Milk (we used oat milk)

6 · Cardomom Pods

1 tsp · Fennel Seeds

4 · Cloves

2 cm · Fresh Ginger

2 tbsp · Honey

Cinnamon (to garnish)

Star Anise (to garnish)


  1. Infuse 200ml boiling water with the Twinings Spicy Chai tea bags. 
  2. Leave to brew for 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a pestle and mortar, crush the fennel seeds, cardamom, cloves, and ginger until you have a rough paste.
  4. Add the spices and 200ml of the milk to a saucepan and add the brewed tea. 
  5. Let simmer until the milk is warmed through and gently stir.
  6. Strain the milky tea in a sieve to remove all the spices. 
  7. In a milk frother, froth the remaining 100ml of milk till it’s thick and frothy.
  8. Pour the tea into two small mugs and top with the frothy milk. 
  9. Garnish with a sprinkling of cinnamon and a star anise.
